Power Pose

Stand tall and believe in yourself - Roxrite

We all have mirrors, even more so we have tiny comparison devices in our hands now. These little machines that some how have told us we are better or worse then others at any given time. Lucky are those who don’t get sucked in, fortunate are those so constantly confident in who they are that it makes no difference, I don’t buy it, maybe I’m just not that lucky.

Long before the internet and social media, comparison and body image and worthiness was something I dealt with… I’m nothing special, I’m not that great, who cares about me? Clearly I’m wrong, as often I am, and so are you if you’re thinking the same. You are an amazing human being worthy of love, friendship and kindness, YOU ARE AMAZING!

You know you gotta fight like a title holder, Stand like a champion! - The Interrupters

Reclaim that mirror, fight that phone, use it for good over evil! About a year ago I started listening to a Podcast called “Running for Real with Tina Muir”, it’s a great listen and if you’re a runner, very inspirational, Tina talks a ton and encourages THE POWER POSE! I fell in love with this immediately because I was already doing it. The idea is as a runner, find that pose before or after a run or race that makes you feel strong, that makes you feel 10 feet tall made of steel. Own it embrace it and share it.

This isn’t about being cocky, it’s not cute gym pics in front of the mirror in your tank or tee and tight leggings. Those in small doses are okay too, pride is pride.

This is about showing up for yourself, bringing out your inner beast, Your Tiger, Your Ninja, YOUR BATMAN!

Find that stance! Arms up, arms out, karate kick, crouched down and tough, 90’s Hip Hop, or something goofy. Doesn’t matter, find what makes you strong, find what makes you comfortable, find your inner power in this pose and bring it out for the world to see!

Standin' shoulder to shoulder, I hold my head high, Standin' shoulder to shoulder, As we walk across the finish line

- The Arkells

When you put out that energy, the confidence comes, you run that race faster, you lift more, you feel great in those jeans! When your pose gives you that confidence you find those like yourself, you find your tribe, those like you, those who care about you, those who will be in your corner cheering you on and pushing you for greatness, no longer alone, your a part of a movement… YOUR MOVEMENT!!!
